If you’re a government employee, I want to tell you: relax. You won’t sit again waiting for the big holiday vacations and turning them into bridge holidays, because you’ll be comfortable enough every single week…

The whole story started last week when the government asked the Central Agency for Organization and Administration to study the possibility of reducing the working days, which are currently 5 days, in the state’s administrative apparatus — meaning government employees.

And it’s clear that there is support within the government for this proposal, and of course they have reasons for that, like saving fuel, reducing traffic congestion, and rationalizing spending in general.

The issue is now under study, and they’ve also started taking employees’ opinions. There are three proposals they’re working on and studying.

The first proposal:
Work would be all day long but using a shift system. Meaning you could take a morning shift and work at your normal time, or you could start your work after sunset, for example, until 12 o’clock.

The second proposal:
That working days stay the same as they are, but the number of hours is reduced — instead of leaving at 3, you’d leave at 2.

The third proposal:
Reducing working days to four days, with a 3-day weekend, but working hours would increase by two hours.

And it’s said that this third proposal is more or less the most agreed upon, and it’s likely the one that will be implemented.

So what do you think your opinion would be?? Would you prefer to take 3 days off, or work using the shift system?
